Today thought the car had cooled enough, when i opend coolant cap it spewed everywhere. Ive been adding coolant and water back into it and the radiator overflow hole. How do you get a good mixture of water and coolant? And is water wetter good to use also?

get a separate container, and mix the appropriate amounts, then pour it in. I have not heard anything bad about watter wetter as of yet.

SOmeones got to know how to get a good mixture. Should i add water to both the overflow and radiator cap? Does it have to be distilled? Is there a coolant thats better than the rest for rotaries?

The beast water to use is distilled water by doing this you avoid having all that mineral buildup. And water water is a good thing to throw in there and as for the mixing mix in a separate container or drain the hole system and use a premixed coolant that use's distilled water.

Well if you don't know your mix, drain the radiator and the block. Syphon coolant out of the overflow tank as well.

Here's what I did:

Go to CVS and get 2 gallons of distilled water.

Go 2 Autozone and get 2 gallons of coolant.

I had another empty 1 gallon water container lying around so I used it.

Pour water into the empty container and measure it. Line the 2 containers next to each other. If they are both filled up to the same height, they are both exactly half gallons.

Now fill up both containers w/ coolant. You should now have 2 gallons of 50/50 coolant/water mix.

Remove coolant hose from throttle body.

Pour one bottle of water wetter into AST or filler neck.

Fill up AST and filler neck w/ coolant/water mix. Fill up the overflow to the Low mark.

Put the coolant hose back on the throttle body.

Fire her up!

Oh yeah the coolant splashed all over the place when you removed the radiator cap cuz it was still hot and under pressure. NEVER remove the cap when it's still hot!!!

1. distilled water is bad, it will pull the minerals out of the engine until it gets to where normal tap water is.

2. if you are draining the whole car, it takes about 2 gallons, so 1 gallon of antifreeze and 1 gallon of water.

3. fill car, you will only be able to put 3/4 of the 2 gallons in. start car let it warm up. turn it off let it cool down, remove the caps on the engine and ast and top off

I would first get larger radiator srmotorsports.com has a HUGE rad called the ultra or ultimate. It's around $600 but its worht every pennny and more.

What is sounds to me is that the stock one is not doing a great job and it's just boiling over, which is normal but I'm guess it is excessive.

So the large rad should keep temps under control on shut down and boiling over to a min. MIXTURE? it's just depends in ariziona you want distilled and water wetter only during the summer time and you can go back to factory during the rest of the year. Anyplace else do a 50/50 water/anti or 75/25. never a 25/75. Remeber to keep on top of this car once a week and open the hood to check things out. That's what I consider normal maintance. Good luck and I hope could help

I used Water Wetter and my temps seemed to go up slightly. I don't know if it was a hot day or what, but it was a few degrees hotter. Now my temps are back to where they used to be.
