I'm gonna put my motor in this weekend. I'm not replacing the clutch right now, so I don't have a clutch alignment tool. Whats the easiest way to do it, or do I have to use the tool?

Could I just put the clutch and P/P on the trans, mate the trans and motor, and bolt the P/P to the flywheel?

If that won't work....do all rx7's have the same amount of splines and use the same tool? Any other car use the same tool?

Help a brother out

Yes can get the clutch lined up by hand if you are *real* careful. Just feel on the outside of the pressure plate in particular, and also centering inside the hub where the tool would normally go.

If you are putting the tranny and motor together outside the car, this will be easy, even without the tool.

However, its about a $5 part at Autozone, just get one for a Ford.

just do it the "other way" Slide the pressure plate and clutch disk on the tranny first, then when the engine/trans are bolted together bolt the plate to the flywheel. put one bolt in, use a screwdriver through the starter hole to turn the flywheel and put another bolt in, and so on.
