Check Engine Light And Power Loss
#1
Something interesting occured on the way to the airport today. Normally if I gas it in boost when its cold the car will hesitate around 3k, could be the ecu hesitating or maybe its a little lean with dp and highflow cat with the stock ecu. But after it warms up it clears up. Today I got into the gas a little too much while it was still warming up and it did its usual hesitation, and I let off like normal. Except the check engine light came on. After the light came on it cruised in vacume just fine, idled perfect, shut off and started with no problems, but anytime I approached boost the car fell on its face. After shutting the car off and back on, the light went off. Car sat for awhile and cooled off, then as I left the airport the check engine came on again, this time I didn't really gas it. After I drove a few miles and temps were up to normal I shut it off and back on to get the light off. Then it drove just fine in boost and the light never came back on. What can I be looking for here?

FWIW, that's pretty close to what my car will do when my CEL comes on. The CEL was also intermittent but it stayed on long enough one time that I was able to pull the code and learned it was the Intake Air Thermosensor (IIRC: CODE 11). My car would start and run fine but loose power under boost, due I assumed, to running very rich.
