Brake/Clutch problem
Hi Im new to the forum
I'm about to buy an fd rx7 engine rebuilt but need paint and some interior things
the abs module is bad so I'll have to delete for now but the seller tells me he cant start the engine the nromal way because of that module problem and becuase the brakes and the clutch share the same pump, is that true? and if so that module problem should affect the fact that the engine can be started normally?
the engine starts if the car is pulled, thats what he told me .. I told him I would not buy the car if I can't see the engine starts
He told me that if he pressed the clutch the fluid from the reservorium would come out through the point its leaking and thats why there is not enought pressure for it working right
could you please help me I don't want to buy the car and find out the transmition is bad or something like that
Please help me

Re: Brake/Clutch problem
Yes, it's true...the clutch and brake system share a master cylinder. But that should NOT keep him from being able to start the car. He should be able to put the transmission in neutral, and press the clutch down so the clutch safety switch is off. From your post I'm not seeing a reason the car couldn't be at least started. Though you couldn't drive it anywhere if it doesn't have brakes to check anything else.
From your post it appears you're NOT mechanically experienced, so let me ask you something. Why in the world would you want to buy a car that you KNOW has some serious issues? Why not find a better car? This one already sounds like a pile of crap.

Re: Brake/Clutch problem
You are right im not familiar with the rx
But labor is pretty cheap here so if it is an easy fix shouldnt be too much cash to have it fix
I know if there is a major thing ill walk away from it
I just wanted to ask about this to see if I should walk away from it or what should I have it chacked with close attention
Thanx for the reply
