bouncy idle, weird boost, and running lean
#1
Alright, so Im crusing down the highway yesterday, boosting in third gear, but thats normal. I turn off onto my street and start to cruise in 2nd. I boost a little, but the car barely pulls on me. I pull over, and my idle instantly drops to the 300-500 range and starts bouncing. My first thought is to get some gas in it, as I was pretty low. I fill the tank, and same thing. Usually, when Im sitting at idle, my boost gauge shows like, negative .5 bars I believe, but now, its nearly at zero. When you pop the hood with it idling, you can hear the turbos lightly spooling. Still not sure what to do, I limp the car home, and notice that when Im sitting at idle, my A/F ratio is at the normal rich area. However, the second I start to put any gas into the car, it moves rather quickly over to the lean side, and if I get anywhere near the regular spooling point, the meter is deep in the red. So Im thinking maybe a fuel filter? Asked the guy who owned it before me, and he said he had it for around 20,000 miles, and never replaced it....

compession check
check the plugs
Checked the plugs, and aside from some carbon, they are fine. Also checked compression, hard to get exact numbers, but three spikes on both rotors, all either at ~100psi, or really damn close. Like I said though, smoke coming from the engine bay, near the back of the motor, white smoke from the exhaust till its heated up, then its mostly black.
