so lately ive been runing out of patience kinda quickly. i tried removing the radio but had no i dea how. then tried removin the condole around it and it didnt budge. so i stopped before i rippied it off.



so how is it done?

ok here you go. if you look at the sides of the radio there is a plastic piece on each side that pops off.(it's hard to see that they come off, but they do. Then when you get them off, you will see 2 holes. There is a special tool they sell for that, mainly used for fords. You can buy the tools for $10, or cut 2 pieces of coathanger about 6 inches each. then bend them in a "u" shape. stick them in the holes on both sides, wiggle around to dis-engage the locks and slide the radio out

ahh cool, i got the those tabs out. i thought u slid a flat piece of metal next to the radio, a la slim jim...lol

just read through most of it. interesting, might just repair the bose...as long as theyre sure i can play cdrs.

never had a problem with playing CDr's only issue i have is that older CD players skip more than the modern ones

i'd ditch that bose system.. eventually it just dies out.. my red 93 had it and would play CDRs and most CDs for a while, but a year passed and it would skip all the freakin time.. i'd get an aftermarket and free up the bottom DIN for some gauges

actually i was looking at a double din tv thingie. but then was like ill just get a single din tv thingie. but then i realised that i usually ride by myself short distances. i thik the farthest i go often it e-town and thats a 45 min to 1 hr drive at the worst...



so might get a decent head unit and try to find a base/r1 under radio cubby and stick the auto timer and boost controller in there.

i've got a friend who has a cubby, but its not the one with the door, its the other one that has slots for CDs.
