ah doing the rebuild urself there papasmurf? funny i just got done doing mine and i've put a happy 220miles on the new engine

Anyways, you need to look at the shop manual, its the easiest way to tell what you need to get the engine out.. here is a link to the shop manual.

Shop Manual for 93 RX-7

You will however need Adobe Acrobat to read the .pdf file. i'd suggest printing the pages you need for now...

you should disconnect the transmission from the engine, unless you are pulling the tranny with it, in that case you need to disconnect the drive shaft and power plant frame and associated brackets and shields.

Disconnect the motor mounts

Disconnect the battery, i/c, intake, downpipe, hoses to the brake master cylinder, map sensor, and grounds.

pull the engine harness out of the firewall and remove with the engine as a whole (shop manual shows you this, pretty simple)

disconnect power steering and a/c, leave in the engine bay...

um thats about it...

anything else? manual should help you!

Yea I was going to send you to www.iluvmyrx7.com for a workshop manual but you got it there on the first link. Follow that to the "T" and you will be fine. Take your time . Also if you search the rotary web ring you can find a rotary aviation place that sells rebuild videos that are pretty detailed. I bought one and it explains everything.

Good luck

Also, don't forget the oil cooler lines.

Ha i didn't even catch that. If your pulling your motor off tyhese guys advice your in trouble. Haaaa

Make sure you download the workshop manual. You are going to need the torque specs anyway unless your using the 2 shake rule. Which I woudn't recommend.
