Thumbs down

Hi! I live in germany and want to import a third gen rx7 and wanna tune it, but i am not that confirmed with tuning and the boost levels of a rotary engine.

First:

I wanna install a high flow cat, a 3" downpipe, a 3" catback exhaust system (maybe the Apexi GT), boost and water temp gauges , the Apexi PowerFC (has it also the boost controller function?, wanna run 2 boost setups ), Greddy Profec b or Apexi Avcr (which is better?), Greddy/Apexi intake system. (What will be approximately the rwhp number? @10 psi (280rwhp) ??? First target is maybe 300rwhp@12psi on stock motor and stock twins )

Later:

I wanna install a t78 greddy turbo kit, and fuel upgrades.

(What will be the estimated rwhp at 10 and 15psi?)

My target is running 10 psi with maybe 300 rwhp and 380-400 rwhp at maybe 14-15 psi! Is it possible?

THNX for any replies and for any help or advice!!!

PS:Just wanna pay max. 15000 dollars for a fd wink.gif (have to import it and i dontknow how much it will cost to ship it ;( )

how do u say what the hell in german??? In any case, with power fc and full exhaust, intake, i/c, injectors and fp, do will be more than capable of putting over 380 down! migith have to abuse the twins to do it but they can go as high as 18 psi...

just go up to 16 if you have good gas and try to find someone in germany who knows how to tune power fc and a dyno...in germany how hard could that be??? wankel gimme a break!!!

I have the almost exact setup you're looking for, and I love it. Dont have HP numbers to quote though. Needs tuning for engine response.

A T-78 w/ Nitrous net'd 645rwhp for Rotary Performance. 9.6 quarter mile on Slicks. 10.5 et's with street tires.

http://rx7.com/images/street_heat.pdf <--Read about it.

Important thing is, from what I've read, is up'ing your fuel to compensate for higher boost. Some other turbo vehicles can tolerate a 50-70% increase in boost with stock fuel, computer, etc. but for us FD owners it's no such luck. I read 12 psi as the highest before bigger injectors and probably already a different fuel pump. So just be sure you compensate with more fuel.

Haha nice joke jt and vr6

So first of all thnx for ure replies. As i said my first step of tuning will be the boltons and the reliability mods. (Wanna kill those damn cars the little kiddies are driving and acting like machos cause they drive their fathers cars sl500, sl55 amg, bmw m3, boxters and carerras and so on...)

Later i will tune up the fuel system and the turbo.

Well is the t78 kit good or is the 40gt kit better for my targets(i like the greddy kits)? Wont run more than 15 psi cause ive read it will shorten the engines life alot.

Do u think buying a rx7 for 15k with a rebuild engine is acceptable?

PS: Does anyone knowwhat shipping costs to germany?

LOL, no I don't know the shipping to Germany, considering I live in NY, USA. I've never had to worry about it :P

AFAIK, $14-15k was the going rate for an FD with a reman, however I was willing to pay close to that for a good running, lower miles (40-70k) great running all stock FD (Cept for Reliability mods). Might be a good route to go. Reason being, come "reman" time, you can oversee all purchases and who does it yourself.

So find one that runs right, is near stock, and well-kept (like mine ) and go my route...probably only do mild mods the first time around, then all out when the time comes. Unless, of course, you are impatient :P Or you can just go crazy anyday and if the motor go's most of the surrounding parts should be okay.

I wouldn't suggest buying the car to only kill off some little punks in town, your upcoming FD deserves better! I mean its fun to break hearts with it sometimes, but be sure to simply enjoy the drive and quite possibly; the track!

Yeah i know the fd has to be deserved better and it will be deserved better

It is the coolest car i may get even thought about a supra (but a little bit too expensive) or a dsm (...a dsm... hm...not really what i am supposing but must enough if i gonna loose money cause of my dads illness...)

Well i think ure right i will gonna buy a low miles near stock fd, do not cost more than 12k right?

But ive read that the engines dont last for long so i have to get a reman after about 80k miles right? Is it better to try to reman it by myself or to get new one, if i have to get a new reman engine i wanna go i with a streetported one

Now the surprising part, we have some importers in germany but htey are shitty a fd will cost complete about 20000 euro so about 26000 dollars for a 94 fd 70000 miles all stock. This is really gay!
