I tried starting my Rx-7 the other day and i almost crancked and i tried to get it to keep from dying so I hit the gas but it still died. Ever since then I couldn't get it started. I took out the EGI fuse and crancked it and it still never crancked. Then I changed the starter and it still wont start. I had the starter tested and it tested good. What can I do to get my car to work? How can I tell if it is flooded or not? When I turn the key all i get is the engine to want to try and cranck but it never makes all of the way over.

Thanks

Robert

does it crank at all? maybe its carbon locked?

if it doesnt crank at all, try using a prybar and turn the flywheel opposite of engine cranking from the service opening at the back plate,

anyone else?

I took it to the dealer and they said the engine is locked up. How can i tell if it is carbon locked? When it try poping the clutch it just lockes up the tires. I tried to get the pulleys to move with a big wrench but couldn't get them to move. Where is the back plate? Thanks for the help man.

the inspection hole by the starter motor is what he means if you cant turn the motor with a very large (bigass) prybar its probably siezed...not carbon locked. Check your oil level i hope it isnt blown up man

take out the spark plugs and spray marvel mystery oil or auto tranny fluid in there and let is soak a while. For some reason it unlocks the carbon a little and makes breaking her free a little easier

I got some AMSOIL and sprayed it into the top to spark plug holes to eat away at the carbon. I am letting it sit for a while but theni am going to try and pry it loose.
