Wheel Bearings Done...question Though...
#1
After much procrastination I finally put in new wheel bearings on my T2...Actually it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Luckily my dad had tons of bits for the die-grinder and it wasn't too hard to punch out the old races...
Following the install we took it for a spin and its perfect No more humming noise while cruising...
One thing I'm confused about though is concering the image I attached. I noticed that the left front spring has a sort of spacer in it. Unfortunately I don't have my digital camera now so I quickly cad modelled what it looks like. The weird thing is this mechanism is only on the left side...not on the right front spring. And I don't have them on my 91 n/a either...The car sits level, handles fine, and isn't raised/lowered. I couln't tell the material but it almost seemed like more of a molded solid plastic or wood feel...definately wasn't home made or custom. Any ideas? Thanks
