that's the exhaust of a 13B with peripheral port exhaust, without smog equipment, idling.

well, your case might be an exception, but technically speaking... the peripheral port exhaust port has alot of intake/exhaust overlap, at low rpm theres a significant period of time for the air/fuel mixture to go right out the exhaust port. When you have the emissions equipment it cleans this up. At idle, with no cats, shitloads of unburned hydrocarbons are going right out the tail pipe(s).

wether your car smells better now without cats than before is relatively insignificant since we do not know what condition your cats were in, or if your emissions system was functioning properly.

ok my bad people

i was saying i was installing the 20th sound system within a couple months...... and to my surprize it is an extra smell

and yes i know when i take my cats off there is a smell and i have had them off for more than a year now

but recently this smell has been a lot heavier

and i guess im going to double check whats goin on under there but.....

do you guys think it could be some kind of leak???

i was putting another driveshaft in when i looked at my extra muffler under the car and there was something on it, i thought it was oil but my mech told me it wasnt and it was all dried up though........

any thoughts?
