hey everyone i'm new to rotary, in fact i just purchased a 1990 rx-7 gtu, and i was wondering what all i can remove to shave a few lbs? I heard of people removing the air pump but i do have the 6 port and was wondering if it will cause the 5th and 6th not to open up?

I have heard of people removing a bunch of things but they use abbreviations that i don't know what they are.

also i have a hole in the muffler and was wondering if that would cause the ports to open up late b/c at 4K to 5K it seems like there is no difference but at 6k it really starts to pull just wondering if it's supposed to be like that?

on a 1990 the 6 port system runs off of the air pump, so the exhaust system has no effect on its opening.

for weight savings, you want the aluminum hood. if the a/c doesnt work, its about 40lbs. stock radio is over 20 (lotta amps and stuff). cruise control is like 2lbs.

the stock exhaust weighs a ton, anything is lighter. stock wheels are heavy too.
