so i swapped a good na motor back into my car. and the car it came out of never had this problem, so im confused.

car runs great, i can drive it around fine no coolant loss no leaking nothing that i can see.

once i park it long enough for it to cool down, when i come back out and start it the add coolant buzzer is screaming at me and i have to add water to the radiator and filler neck.

it never goes low in the middle of driving, jsut after it cools down after driving.

there are no visible leaks that i can find

and its not burning it, no smoke on startup or while driving at all.

maybe a small leak somewhere and its not holding pressure and all going into the overflow on cooldown?

or what. im confused.

any ideas?

Is the over flow tank full when cold? Check to the level when hot and cold see if there is a change.

the only way i couldnt htink of checking that would be to drain it.

and i just put it in there, so im not doing that.

this motor came right out of another 88 NA and didnt have any coolant problems whatsoever.

also, the car it went into didnt have and problems when it ran.

maybe i goofed something and now its leaking.

if your overfill tank is overflowing after you stop driving it, thats the first sign of a bad seals. but if you aren't overflowing then it might be something else
