Hi all, I am in the process of rebuilding my engine right now. I had a blown apex seal in the rear rotor. Now, There is a little wear in one of the apex grooves near the edge but the rest seam fine. There are quite a few small dings on the faces of the rotor and one pretty large one, where I assume the broken apex seal got swept by and drug against the housing. I was wondering since the seals hold in all of the compression, would the rotor be ok to use, or would the dings deem it unuseable? I tried to sand everything flush so nothing would wear against the housing, but I am just a little paranoid about using it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Aaron

I wouldn't trust it, you can get ones in decent shape from junkyards pretty cheap.

junkyard with a TII?!?! where? I haven't seen any turbos at any of my local junkyards. I took some pics and will try to get them up soon. Thanks for all your input so far!

last one, straight on of the apex groove in question. its only the very top that is iffy, the rest looks to be in pretty good shape.

Listen to everybody else, don't use it unless your willing to risk another rebuild.

I agree with him, another rotor or another rebuild

I've been getting a real difference of opinions... This is the only thread where anybody has said don't use it. On the other forums, most say it doesn't look too bad.
