Tall Guys In 2nd Gen?
#1
Hey,
I tried squeezing my tall, lanky self (6'5") in a 1st gen RX7 without luck. I haven't gotten to try a 2nd gen, but what is the general consensus on head/leg room.
If anyone has had to modify their seat brkts, I'd like to hear about that too.
Thanks,
Erik

No verts for me, I plan to auto-x with it. I have seen some tall dudes fit into some tight cars with some fab work on the seat track/brkts. Just wanted to see what I am up against.
Funny, I had 2" to spare in my old 944.

I'm just a little over six foot, and I have to rake the seat pretty far back to keep my head off the roof. The seat backs really grab you, so I'm glad I'm not very wide. They will definitely hold you tight in a hard corner. Overall, I'd say for a sports car, it's very comfy. I could use another inch of headroom, though.
BTW, it definitely feels roomier than my wife's Vette.

Did all second gen's come with a sunroof? I might be able to get some slack without one.
Thanks,

I'm 6'1 and fit fine in my FC's...and I don't have the seat back all the way either...head a few inches from the ceiling...
My n/a coupe has one more adjust lever on the seat that the T2 doesn't...allowing me to angle it downward and sit lower than the T2...
and no not all FC's came with sunroofs...I believe all GTUs's did NOT have sunroofs (unless it was a non electric dealer installed one) ...some base models didn't have sunroofs either

I'm 6'4" and i fit only in verts without fabrication work on the seat brackets
you will NEED a smaller steering wheel
i have a 36" inseam so my legs are always a problem
i bolted the stock seat directly to the mounts without the brackets in my GTU (rip)
dont even try to fit into a 3rd gen..you'll get stuck and it will create an emabrassing situation
also, if are into fabrication, you can just make some crossmembers to make the car just as stiff as a coupe, its on my to-do list

I'm 6'2" and I have enough room. But when I'm at an autocross wearing a helmet, I dont have a fitted one so I have to race with the helmet in the sunroof tracks.
