Taking Out Cruis Control

I dont think mine works, I was wondering is there any advantages to not having cruise control or should I not even worry about taking it out.

it saves you like 1lbs and frees up about 6" of space....

2 bolts, a throttle cable, and an electrical connector. quite ez.
