Special Tools Needed?
#2
It all depends on if you are changing the flywheel or just the clutch, if you have a flywheel change in mind there are quite a few tools used, if you are just changing the clutch a basic metric hand tool kit will suffice. about the only thing special you may need is a alignment tool for the clutch disc. Ussually these are included in most kits now, but if not, the auto parts stores will normally rent them out to customers. If not you can pick them up pretty cheap in a kit. Ussually less than $15 for a universal. I personally have an old input shaft from a broken trans mission I use.
If you are changing the flywheel as well, do a search here, or in the porting rebuilding thread, this has been covered many times, and you will get quite a few intresting ideas on how to get that pesky nut off the eccentric shaft.

You can trim a regular pilot bearing tool to fit into the mazda pilot bearing. All you need is a grinder or a file to cut down the ears a little.
* I RECOMMEND YOU CHANGE THE PILOT BEARING* They usually dont last as long as a clutch, and i believe the extra play with a bad pilot bearing will put extra wear on the trannys bearings. And it only costs $11.00 so there is no reason why you shouldnt.
