Here's the deal, my fan clutch is free-wheeling (broken) and a new one is $200 at Mazdatrix, probably much more at the dealer. So, can I solder my fan so that it turns with the engine

and not by its own? It doesnt matter much if there's a drop of hp ( I expect less than 2 hp ). Anyone did it??

I wouldn't suggest it. If you lock your fan to the engine RPM it will sound like a turbine at high RPM. you'll lose more than 2 HP. Go to a junk yard and get one, or look online for someone parting out their car. probably can get one for around $20

if u can't find one @ the junkyard, ebay or online, get and electric fan, any model/year fiero fans work great.

If you're still looking, I've got mine from my vert, and it's just sitting in my closet.

Where do you live?
