Shaved emblems?

i wanna remove the emblems on the back of my car,the big one in plastic letters that says MAZDA and the other plastic one that says RX-7,are these just glued on or when i remove them will there be a couple of holes used to properly straighten them? i think the car has been repainted will there be color fade behind the emblems when there romoved,how did you get them off and get whatever glue left behind,(if there even glued on?),the car is a 88 GXL with 67,000 miles on it,smells brand new

There are holes, they arent just glued on. And more then one per emblem as well, something like 2-4 of them per emblem actually, I cant rememeber exactly, I did it like 4 years ago.

i went to a shop to have other body work done around there, so i had them remove my dealer emblem, it looks so nice and clean.

But to answer the question fully- you have to have the holes welded ( carefully as not to warp the metal from too much heat ), grind it a bit, fair it, and then prime/paint.
