Does anyone know if this is covered forever by Mazda? I heard that this may be the case, my '88 vert left side does not go back up.

He isnt talking about the power seat belts, he is talking about the 88 non-power ones.

Yes actually they are cover for the life of the car because of a recall. Check with Mazda about it. I have a copy of the paperwork but I don't have a scanner to post it. If you want you can pm me with your address and I can send you a copy.

we used to waranty all the seatbelts even though the recall is only for 89-91 coupes.

go to the dealer and jump up and down and they might do something, if not the seatbelts are actually cheap

So they will put new seat belts in a 1988?

im sure you of all people know they are just standard seat belts, not like the power ones.

we warantied seat belts on a 78glc, but i'm not sure we were supposed to. if they call the mazda rep they will probably do it, its only like $100....
