Ever since I installed the roll bar in my vert the seat belt on the passenger side has been stuck in the locked position. It won't pull out or retract at all. I haven't had time to take it apart since I installed the day before I came to school. Does anyone have any ideas on why it is stuck and how to unstick it? Ill be going home again soon and will have the time to attempt to fix it. I looked in the shop manual but there isn't much about it in there that I could find. I might be blind though. Please help. Thanks.

did you use the seat belt mounts as a mount for your roll bar?

 

Yes. It bolts on the top seatbelt mount. I don't know how that would cause that though. It doesn't turn the belt at a weird angle and it rotates freely.

 

was thinking maybe you bolted something by accident.



sometimes they do just get stuck, the retractor fails.

look in the parts for sale secion- there was a guy parting

out a vert, maybe he has one.

 

Is the seatbelt mechanism the same as in the coupe? If so I could always go pull one from the junkyard if I have to. I think I am going to wait until I get the chance to take it apart before I buy one though. Im hoping it is something stupid that I can fix.
