RX7 timing curiousity, and decel misfire (seems to be rich misfire)
#1
So I went to set the timing on my S5 vert, and any changes I make change the idle too. I managed to get her the timing right but now she idles between 500-650, but it idles smooth which is an improvement, and she misses a little less while driving.
on Deceleration if I let the rpms drop below about 2700 she starts missing if I keep her in gear. I can hear pops in the exhaust that sound like shes runing very rich, and a friend commented that she smells rich.
when cruising if I let the RPMS sit at 2500 or 3000 she misses here and there. nice and smooth if I speed up or slow down slightly
Any ideas?
I lost my sense of smell so I can't smell if shes rich :/

No doubt about it she is rich and unless you add some sort of fuel control that wont change. For that reason if you have no cats which i assume you do not some after burn pops in the exhaust would be normal. You can always adjust the idle back up. as for some of the misses.. id check the tps for and dead spots and adjusting it.

ok looks like I"m on the right track, just haven't gotten around to messing with the TPS.
