Well, I took the Ol' RX-7 by the body shop guy and it came out to almost $3000, over the technical value of my car ('86 RX-7), and therefore totalled. I expect the insurance company to give me some money for it.

I have no intention of getting it fixed with my own money, and since I wanted to get it changed over to a stick anyway, I plan on buying a newer one. I'm thinking 90 or 91.

So I've come to an interesting point. Last summer I had the engine rebuilt and reported. Should I buy a NA and have my new engine put in it, or just try and sell the whole car and buy a turbo?

Anyone selling an RX-7: black, 89+, stick tranny?

you have to decide a few things. do you want the car to be more reliable or faster. if you want it to be reliable get another N/A and keep your car as a parts car. if you want speed. part out the wrecked car and use the money to purchase a TII. be forewarned TII parts cost more and are harder to find. i know your in college your best bet is to stay N/A so atleast you have a car that runs

that's what my mechanic told me when i got my engine rebuilt last summer. Is it a good idea to stick my 86 rebuilt/port engine in a newer model? i was thinking about maybe doing a barganing thing with my mechanic, my old car for some labor and part switches off the old car.
