hey guys when i bought my fc it had a 3' straight pipe put to the stock mufflers. why they were left and not changed i dont know. anyways come to find out my whole hesitation problem i have been having for awhile is the inside of the muffler on the driver side has rusted it self loose so under heavy accel. it lodges it self sideways and makes it run ruff. my question is.. is this a common problem and what is the best exhaust for a pretty much stock fc

make sure the muffler you choose has no packing, or at least stainless steel packing

sounds to me like you might have some El Cheapo special muffler that fell apart to the rotary abuse

Actually the stock mufflers are not that bad.

They are better then most cheap replacements.

It takes a way better than average muffler to quiet the intense exhaust pulses of a rotary engine without being prematurely destroyed.

If you are OK with a loud setup, just use stainless packed mufflers.

If a more quiet setup is preferred, add a stainless packed pre-silencer where the main cat used to be.
