Removing Stock Ecu Harness?
#1
I am trying to get my ECU harness out of the car....but I can't get that small connector under the dash by the firewall disconnected....anyone have any tips on how to remove it? I have the ECU out of the car and I have the harness out of the engine. Now I just need to get it through that hole, but I can't.
Same for ABS...everything is ready to get pulled....but I can't get it out either. It wraps behind the dash by the firewall and is really hard to pull for some reason. Any tips there either?

lane_change did you try my advice? that rubber grommet is huge and hard to pull through the hole they fed the ABS harness through, get rid of the grommet or bend it and push it through from the bay -> interior and the rest should be easy.
be patient and try different techniques and eventually youll figure out the easiest way. i had to walk away form the car after tugging on the damn abs harness for a while.
kevin.

Yeah....I got it all removed. I just removed the blower and then it was easy to remove.
Now my new question is about the cruise control and windshield wiper motor on the stock ECU harness. Do I simply cut the other lines that go from those two seperate plugs? There is about 15 lines going to those two plugs....yet only about 10 go into the engine bay to the cruise control and windshield wipers....the other 5 or so follow the main harness and travel to the ECU.....do I still need those wires? Do I have to splice them into my Microtech wiring harness? Do I simply cut those ones and just leave the original 10 or so that go back into the engine bay?
Thanks,
Scott
