I saw this photo in another forum.. i never really knew why people in japan did this do the back of their hoods. Finally found out that it's to get rid of heat in the engine bay. it's really a simple mod, especially on the FC stock hood mounts.. a simple peice of aluminum 4"x1" and your done... it simply raises the back of the hood. Tell me what you guys think, cause i am thinking of doing this.

humm.. i could always make the mounts, try it out.. and if i didnt like it remove them. it's not like i have to cut/mod any part of the car. I just always wonderd why Japanese company's did this with their cars.

AIR HAS TO GO SOMEWHERE! instead of turbulence under the hood, it just escapes... brilliant!

Hold on. I feel the need to let some air escape right now..

Ah! that's better.

It shouldn't matter if it looks good. Form over function right? I think it would be cool to have adjustable brackets, so on track days, etc. I could have the hood popped up and keep it down during normal use.

Given the air flow diagram I have seen for our cars, the hood popped up like this should as as a cowl induction hood and suck additional air through the opening.
