I have had my 88 RX-7 convertable for about a week. I have been looking for a new top because mine has a big hole in it, the motor, frame and window are still in good shape. I have found only one place that has them. But they want 900 for it. Does anyone know where to find them cheaper or is that what they run

You might try just going to an uphostry shop, I have had them do door panels before for close to nothing. I can't remember off hand where I saw a good deal on tops, but it will come to me... hard to remember if it was for the vert or the Jeep LOL

$900 is about the going rate for a shop to charge for a topinstalled, I believe if you want to buy a Robbins Top for the car, your cost would be somewhere around $600 just for the top, and its not a job I would reccomend you do on your own. Shop around and ask what your getting is my only advice.

I do, but mostly because I'm too lazy to lower the top.

You too. I'll pull the targa top off, but I don't put the top all the way down much.

I got a quote from an uphostry shop, it was $1200 for the OE top, and $1600 for the nice cloth (like on a BMW). I'm sure you can find it for cheaper, that place is kind of expensive.
