I'm looking to pick up a compression tester. Will any normal tester work with this car? I saw one that had a 0 - 300 psi range and a 14mm and 18mm thread adapter. Will this work?

any tester will work as long as the check valve is removed, however its a 2 man job cause its hard to read when having to crank the car over as there is no way of recalling what the presure is with a mechanical gauge. i myself am lucky as i own a mazda rotary compression tester wich i got for free from my shop cause my boss didnt know what it was hehehehe.man i got a good thing goin on at this dealership.

Here's a pic of the compression tester I got. What exactly is the check valve that needs to be removed?

at the end of the hose that comes off the compression tester is a valve that looks like the one in your tire valve, you remove that, it unscrews
