i noticed today that i have a hissing noise almots like a vacuum line fell off but my dad helped me check em and none fell off and we cant find where its coming from,

also today when i drove it i noticed that the oil pressure is noticeably lower than normal around 10-12 psi at idle and about 35 psi at 3000 rpm normally it ran around 30 at idle and around 60 at 3000 rpm i cleaned off the oil pressure sending unit cuz i heard that connection can get crudded up but that didnt help

if u have n e idea what could be causing these problems please let me know.

thanks

If your oil pressure is low and it's not the sender then there has to be a leak somewhere. Check the oil cooler lines and the oil filter housing. Another possibility may be the rear main seal? Where exactly does the hissing come from?

the hissing is coming from the back of the engine area above the tranny my dad and i thought it was a vacuum leak but we checked all the lines and we couldnt tell that n e thing was leaking ive had the car for like 4 months and nothings changed untill today when i noticed the oil pressure was low and the hissing i cleaned the connection on the oil pressure sending unit below the oil filter and that didnt change it. im kind of afraid of driving it cuz i dont wana have n e thing worsee happen.

You might want to remove that inspection plate between the motor and transmission to look for oil leaking while it's running. Also, if you remove the starter you may be able to find alot of oil in the transmission bellhousing.
