The oil pressure sender is pretty close to the tranny and where you have to mount the starter, so its not impossible that they could have knocked the wire off the sender.

check it yourself, see if the wire is connected to the sender, do you know what the sender looks like?

Its under the oil filter, its a cylindrical thing sticking out the side of it, it protrudes towards the fender area, and on the end there should be a wire

attatched to it. See if the wire is there and if is if its broken, or just wiggle it back and forth a little if it is connected and see if it works.

thanks travis for the offer but you know its already fixed bc you fixed it. but everyone i have a new prob now, sometimes when i get on it a little the tach will drop to zero and the engine check light will come on. the car still runs, but no tach. as soon as i turn it off and back on the light goes off and the tach works again. any ideas?

If the check engine light comes on then there's something wrong and you should check the codes, unless the engine is just stalling, which would cause all of the dummy lights to come on.
