hello, i have a 88 non turbo 5 spd. I just finished installing my new engine. just to note: my car ran fine before with old one it just had 173k on it so i wanted a new one. alright heres the deal. after installing new engine turned key and it just turned over and nothing else. i'm almost sure that i have no spark and no fuel. i think something is stoping the signal but i'm not sure what it is. i have no spark out of spark plug wire to ground with spark tester. also i have a new ecm. another thing is one of the guys i work with races rx7 and he put a 91 maf on his 87, so he had me do the same, i don't think that would cause a now spark situation but i'll take any sugestions. i've put my coils and ignitors and main relay and my new ecm on my buddies car and only the leading ignitor makes he car want to die. witch is anything thing that would casue a no spark situation well for the trailing side anyways. Revolution rotory (skip) is the one who built my engine and he installed the crank angle sensor for me, and iv'e also installed my old CAS from my old running engine just incase i got a bad one ya know. Does anybody know if there is a couple of sensors that if they go bad that it will cause this? like water thermo switch, or oil pressure, oil level, etc... also would the tps even tho i never touched it cause this if it went out of calibration? i'll take anything for a sugestion. i've tried everything. well looks like i havn't is car is still not running right. hehe. well thanks for everybodies help, hope one day i'll beable to drive this thing, i've only gone 20 miles sence i picked it up 4 months ago.

Have you tested the coils via the instructions in the manual?

Obviously spark is a necessity, fix that and go from there. Do you have the old ECU? If so stick it in. All the wires checked and tripple checked?

you could put a timing light on the spark plugs wires and crank it to see if you are getting spark.. I would check the ecu for sure. Are u sure u installed the fuel lines correctly, not *** backwards? Can u hear the fuel pump? to see if you have fuel u could also crank the engine a couple times and check the spark plugs to see if they are soak, which they would be since its not firing if you are getting fuel.

If you pulled the CAS out the timing might be off too. Make sure you align the mark on the pulley with notch on the front housing, then pull the CAS out and align the notch on the CAS housing with the notch on the CAS gear. Then put the CAS back in trying not to rotate the gear any. You will have to get the gears to line up but thats no biggie. But if you are not getting fuel or spark, thats a problem. You could also try your old MAF and see what happens. Good luck!
