I bought an 88 a/e and have been getting it running and the body work done on it slowly, but it is finally coming along.

It is running well up to 4k rpms then it begins to miss badely and breaks up so I have no power. The car had been sitting for like 2.5 years before I recently started working on it so I replaced the plugs and wires. The SAFC is saying the TPS is at full throttle at all time so I was wondering if there is a page on here that describes how to fix that. Also, I don't know if the ecu has a safe mode or something that prevents it from going over 4k rpms when something is wrong so if anyone could let me know about that I would apprecaiate it.

if the tps isnt right it does do something with the ecu over 4k rpms. i'd have a look either in the service manual (plenty online) or the FAQ's the TPS is like the biggest problem these cars have

Something may be going on with your secondary injectors. But, fix the known issue first, the TPS was never any good in these cars. Especially a 20+ year old one
