Welcome to nopistons! I'll move this to the 2nd generation section, you should get more answers there.
But if he doesn't know exactly what's wrong with it, it may not even need a rebuild.
Some reasons it could need a rebuild are loss of compression (always do a compression test), or busted oil or coolant seals (it would smoke a lot when running, and smell of burnt oil/coolant). This is assuming it's n/a, I'm not sure about the turbo.

thanks, the owners an idiot i called him today and said i was interested but wanted to have it looked at and he told me his wife was at home and to do it on my own so i had my mechanic freind come over and we found out it needs a coil but since he wasnt smart enough to be there when i got it checked out i told him that it had almost no compressoin but we read 92 when we checked and we got a coil from his shop for $40 used i bought it for $300 so tomarrow while hes at work were gonna put the new coil in it and im gonna drive it home and start looking for performance parts since ive got $4700 cash to put into it now =D

thanks,i kinda live in hillbilly wv so theres no chance im gonna find rotary performance parts or someone that knows what rotary means haha, any good websites where i could buy some im thinking of putting this na on ebay and build a 13b-rew from whole new parts but would that make it any less reliable because i figure im going to need each engine too last at least 45,000 miles
