need help with headlight switch

i heard about the FC's headlights switches/ wiper swtiches going bad often... my headlight switch cuaght on fire... (well... i was smoking a lot and making an arking or cracking noise... yeah duh electricity) but,i think it is just the switch itself that just wore out over time... if anyone has had the switch go out on them and know of a reason why besides the switch just going out let me know.

you need a new switch and the updated wiring harness for it. buy the harness new, switch is prolly ok used

a place called the dealership, fb01-66-167 is the part number

dealership? whats that? heh, so whats "updated" about it... i thought it was just the switch itself.. i took it out and ripped the switch apart and the circuit board was fryed near two of the pins

they double up some of the wires, the harness is the reason the switches fail

well for now i just went to the junkyard and got the switch and wiring harness for 10 bucks so well see if this one catches on fire like the last one...

when a fuse blows instead of ramming the largest fuse you can find in there try to find the problem first, it will cut down on the fires
