Need To Check Out A Tii, But It Has No Key
#1
So there's this local TII for sale, which is a rarety in itself, and me and a buddy want to check out. The owner says it has no title and no key. Is there a way to check the condition of the engine without starting it? Is there a way to start it without the key (without taking a bunch of stuff apart)?

2 ways.
1. remove steering column covers, unscrew electrisical portion of the ignition switch, its on the opposite side of the key. turn switch, and the car will start and run like normal, except the steering column lock will still be locked
2. under the brake master cylinder there are several electical connectors. theres a round 1 pin connector, this is the starter switch wire. unplug it and the starter side, if you give it 12v it will crank the engine over.
3. take the vin to mazda, and make a key, or try yours! sometimes that works

I plan to get the VIN checked out, I know someone at the DMV who does stuff for me. He says he bought this TII and a vert at auction, and planned to swap a v8 in, but decided to sell them.
