Just to start off, i'm completely new to this rotary stuff but i have been interested in it for a while. my buddy has an ae86 that he swapped a 13b into and it was running great. he said the original turbo went bad on it so he replaced it with a t4 i think. its like a 70 trim turbo, and i dont think he has a boost controller on it. well he drove it home from the shop one day and since then it has never fired up, it'll crank and crank and crank, but wont fire up. I'm intrested in buying it cause i like rotarys and hachi's. also i went to go look at and i pulled out the dipstick to see what the oil looked like and i can smell gas in the oil. i know that they are made to burn oil, but i dont think there is suppose to be gas in the oil pan right? if anyone can give me an idea of what the hell happen that would be awesome! thanks.

The car engine might be flooded. So what you do is remove your EGI fuse labeled as 'EGI Comp', hold the gas pedal down, crank the engine for 15-20 seconds, replace the EGI fuse, and trying starting WITHOUT using the gas pedal. If it doesnt work then just repeat. It might take more than one time for it to start. Hope this helps

And it that doesn't do the trick pull the connector for the fuel pump keep starting it till it fires and after it shuts down from no fuel dry start it twice reconnect ther plug and you should be good to go. My Vert kept flooding till I got a new battery and it doesnt do it any more. Just remember if you start it let them (Rotary Engines) get to Operating Temp or at least drop down to Idle before shuttin it off or you will 89% of the time flood...

also if it flooded and you do the de-flooding procedure and it still won't start then you probably fouled the plugs. do the de-flooding procedure then swap the plugs. i'm a little late to the party, but it's good info for anyone with similar issues
