major car concerns
#1
i'm getting to the end of the line with my car. the throtle "it's self" is going out. i tried to adjust the tps with no luck. the exhaust is shot, it dosn't seem like my electrical system will hold up. i've lost my right turn signals, my dash lights flicker (actually shut off) and my cd player cuts in and out. normally i wouldn't be so freaked out but i've got an inspection right around the corner. it's due in nov. (if i'm not mistaken). i also have very limited funds at this time. i need to fix these 3 problems before i get my inspection. and i need to do it cheep without paying an arm and a leg. i plan on scouring the junk yards saturday looking for parts if my wallet will allow me. but do any of you know where i can get parts online or wherever for a decent price. keep in mind my funds are extreamly limited now and hopefully i'd be able to do all of this with under $1000. any ideas would be much appreceated.
thanks in advance.

i put a new cd deck almost a year ago. the electrical issuses didn't start till about 3 or 4 months ago. i wish i could buy a shell with excelent electrical but sadly it's not an option at this time. i am however making plans to go to the junkyards this weekend. i'll look for all the electircals there. anyone know what would be some signs of wear on them aside from slpiced and dryed out wires?

Troubleshooting electrical problems is impossible over the internet. Do you have a wiring diagram?
The first step is to write down a list of all the problems. Take the seemingly easiest problem (tail-light) and fix that first. Just go down the list and knock it out. You just gotta get in there and start troubleshooting.
The rx7 is waay easy. Go buy a 70's or 80's Jaguar, and then you can complain.

i've got the chiltons manual. i'll try trouble shooting the system in the morning before i go to the junkyard. but at the same time i'm pretty hopeless with anything electrical. took a guitar apart and never figured out how to put it back together and that's only like 8 wires at the most.

well, i couldn't figure out the electrical system i kept getting lost in a maze of wires and couldn't figure out my way around. as for finding any parts today... i found nada. 2 rx7's at the junkyard and neither had an engine or exhaust (so no throtle or anything engine related). found one with decent(ish) wireing. but after a closer inspection i doubted it would work. wasn't the same year as mine and didn't want to take any chances.
