This can't be just me with this problem . I own 2 Fc's (86 n/a),(87n/a) and both have the same struggle or loss of power between 3000-4500 rpm's. i gave the 86 a proper tune-up :wires, plugs, new fuel pump , fuel filter , oil etc . and stilll it kept happening. im about to do the same to the 87 but i have a feeling it won't help either.

I've read rotory engines have trouble keeping up fuel pressure at higher Rpms and that could led to a loss in power . im thinking about maybe a walbro fuel pump and a after market Fuel pressure regulator . then again it could be an igniton problem . plain and simple every time my car hits that range i die a little inside .

p.s. this will only happen at or pretty close to full throttle.

That is the infamous 3800 rpm stumble recheck ECU ground on block and add a good solid ground from the battery to the motor only one will do no need to add 30 just 1 really good ground

^I concur.

Also check to be sure your auxiliary ports actuators are, uh, actuating properly. If they're not opening (around 3800 rpm as well), you'll lose power. You can check by put a glob of grease or a paperclip on the actuating rods, go for a romp, and stop to check if the grease is smeared or the paperclips moved.

I've never heard of a "tpc".

Maybe meant TPS and yeah that will cause serious stumble, swaped a fuel pump and filter thinking it was lacking fuel. TPS plug was all green inside. Some time cleaning the plug up and car ran great. Wasted 100 bucks and time swapping out the fuel pump!
