i know the rotary motor uses oil every 1500 to 1800 miles.i know its normal. i cant visually find any oil leaks and the car is not burning any oil either,no blue smoke or anything. just seems like its may be using more oil than it should. i havnt checked my milage to see if it has been. what could be causing this? how to fix? thanks for the help.

Mine is using about 1 quart of oil every 700 to 1000 depending of the way I drive. If you push it alot, I mean shiftings and revs, like in downtown, it will use more. If you're doing mostly cruising, it will use less. Since the metering pump is connected to the throttle body, the more you push down the gas pedal and the engine revs, the more it uses oil. So this is normal.

If you really think it uses too much oil, there's a way to check how much oil the metering pump is pouring in and then make the adjustment. It is better to use more oil than not enough since it's the life of your engine we're talking here.

To a point. My vert was going through about a quart a week! And that was with very little driving. You should have seen the massive clouds of smoke. I would have to take it for a 10 min. freeway drive to get it to stop smoking. So last weekend I spent about 14 hours working on it (most of the time was spent cleaning up stuff). And I finally got the EGR block off plate on (I've had it for almost a year). I'll try and get some pics up. It is starting to look really clean under the hood.

I'm at a quart every 2 weeks. I dont drive it that often. At least till some more problems are worked out.
