were ther any turbo 2's that were convertables???? i love the look of the hard top and i like the turbo 2 but im thnking that there were never any turbo convertables, and what are the differences between the 2 motors, i know that the injectors have to be bigger on the turbo aswell as the ecu, what about the wiring harness and things like port size??? can i jsut get the manifolds, injectors, harness and ecu and bolt up to geet a turbo 2??? it cant be hat simple...any info is greatly appriciated.

No factory turboII's in convertible. If you want one you'll have to make it happen, as far as the specifics, to make it simple to explain, remove body from turboII install convertible body.

every country but america had turbo verts

in fact america is the only country with non turbo 2nd gens

if you do want to do that .... proceedure is the same as NA > turboII swap

need engine and ecu at the LEAST, for best swap use the turbo tranny, driveshaft, and rear end and lsd.

errrrrrr...dunno how to respond to that

anyways.....assuming hes new to rx7s (which he said) i was adding in some information to what you said

you said NO turbo verts...i just clarified the topic

i dont think it was a matter of importation at all.....

anyways....you might wanna swap over the gauge cluster as well....and the boost pressure sensor would be necessary

if you DO this....i would suggest getting soemone who knows whats up with these cars to help or do it for you as theres quite a bit of work for someone with minimal know how on the car

its more that im new to the rotary worls, im not new to cars, i just dont fully understand all of the diffeerent parts on a rotary, there have ben some new names of parts that the conventional postion engine doesnt have that im not sure about, im just wondering, i really want a convertable turbo...whats the difference in teh transmissions other than gearing...was there any treatment to the physical gears to make them stronger? oh and one more thing, i was looking into these cars for a bit, doesnt someone make a 6 speed...i thought it was hks, but it might be someone else.

a. there were no turbo II convertables in the US.

b. injectors were bigger different ecu/harness /beefier transmission/beefier driveline in general

on the NA they had 6 ports instead of 4 like the turbo model did so you cant just

swap over the manifolds and injectors, people have turbo'd na's but they have to be tuned better and getting a tII's drivetrain is almost a must. if you want a turbo convertable my suggestion would be to get a whole turbo II motor set and swap it over including the drivetrain..or if you can live without the convertiable top just buy a turbo II.

Go here...

www.rotaryengineillustrated.com & www.howstuffworks.com

It would be best to get a vert then do a TII swap
