Ignition Problem
#1
I have an '87 N/A that I think has an ignition problem. I have changed wires, plugs and timing and have made small improvments, but basic problem is still there. Ignitors are OK. It runs fine when cold but after about 1 minute warms up a little and then looses power and is hard to restart. The only way it runs is timed at 45 degrees advance. Both the leading and trailing are firing at the same time. It will start to run better for a split second but then drop back. Anybody got any ideas or know where to find help?

What is the best way to do a compression test on the rotary? You are really testing 3 working chambers at one time????? Can I use me leakdown testor instead and rotate the engine to compression stroke on each lobe of rotor?
Thanks for the help!!

Go to step-by-step on the home page it'll tell you what to do. I'd check your compression first. When checking the compression you have to check it for one complete revolution of the rotor ( you will get 3 readings for each revolution; one for each side of the rotor ). Good luck.
