I was wondering if this is a good thing to get for my engine because I have welded up my own intake arm that goes to the throttle body. Other things that I have done to the car are a header, high flow cat, and a Borla cat-back exhaust system. Would this be a good thing to get or not? Is it a good thing to get rid of the MAF sensor on my S4, or do I need more power adders before I get this? Thanks

You cant get rid of the AFM unless you go with a standalone(haltech, ect..). You shouldnt really need to add any fuel or anything right now either.

I bet an SAFC would make power on even a stock NA. They run very rich and you can get some power by leaning them out. I'd only do it on a dyno of course with a good wide band O2 hooked up.

My impression of the S-AFC is that they are only a band aid and look cool in your car. I was tuning my car, S-AFC for that matter with a wideband O2 sensor. I didn't really like how well it worked but it'll help if only a minimal amount.

With everything that is out there for turbo cars, I doubt the SAFC would do too much but I have seen a couple guys get good gains on their NA's with just this tuning piece after their other usual bolt ons were done.

I think the SAFC is supposed to be good for around 10hp on an N/A. I'll find out when I get around to installing mine.

If you buy an S-AFC you buy it for the looks mostly.

So most of you say it does nothing. But I would like to hear what Nemesis gets with his and I will make my decision based on that. Thanks, and keep me posted.

lol you don't own one do you?

Most guys use them to add larger secondaries to their t2s(720cc).

Yes you can lean out the rpm/load ranges with an s-afc even on an n/a to gain some power. 10 hp sounds like a good general estimation.

I don't own one but the bling factor really impressed me and i'm generally performance oriented. A friend of mine has a v-afc and its just fun to watch and just one of those things that makes you think, "damn thats cool, i need one" lol.
