After ready a couple of peoples high oil pressure problems mine still remains unanswered...

I bought my FC the other day and it had an idle problem. i removed the spark plugs and they were BLACK on the ends of them... After i saw this, i changed the plugs immediatly and changed the oil too 10w 30 Mobil synth... My car seemed find but still didnt want to rev pas 6k in gear.. Today i was in the garage and i started up my car... it idles perfectly at 500 rpms, when i go to rev it it stumples past 4k and wont go any higher,( i also noticed a little black cloud of smoke coming from the engine bay, which might have came from the hole in my Cats..) when i did this i looked at the oil pressure and it shot up to 60 really fast...I looked at my grounds and they all seem to be fine.. i have no other information on the car other then its been sitting for awhile, im the 4th owner haha, and its a 88 base with 13b n/a with a possibley rebuilt engine.. i havent done anything to the ignition exept replacement NGK plugs at Napa.. do your think that im not getting enough spark, 60psi seems to be good?? im using 7.5 mm Autolite plug wires.. or my coils might be shot??

thanks,

alex

EDIT: I just recently installed E-fans and the car got really hott, maybe i killed my plugs already??

$5 says its a vaccum leak. Either that or your TPS has gone to shyt. Then again i know jack about NAs.

As for the oil pressure I am even more clueless.

Have you tried whispering sweet things to it while rubbing it gently?

5$ its not a vaccum leak because nothing has been altered on the engine to make it have one, and it cant be my TPS because I idle perfectly at 500 rpms... i cleaned some ground conductors with wd-40 and its working so far, im going to take it out tomarrow to see whats up..

thanks
