I have an 87 rx7 TurboII, It runs great but when i come to a stop it dies!! when u first start it up it will idle for about 1 minute then dies endless u plug the vacuum line coming out of the intake manifold into the little black electronic box to the left of the fuel injector resistor(MAP Sensor???) then it will idle for about 5 and die.....do you think the box is bad??

use carb cleaner and see where you have a vacuum leak. there are about 10 hoses you can't see without taking off the upper manifold.......

Yeah then if you're like me and have pulled yours off at least 20 times you don't care anymore

What is the black box left of the fuel injector resistor right by the filter box?

There's a few things in that area.

If it's got a vacuum hose going to it, it's the pressure sensor

If it's mounted to the front it's probably the fuel pump relay.

Could be a FDC as well.

Helpfull?

Sounds like you just need to adjust the idle. If unplugging a vacuum line keeps it running, then that vacuum line is giving it the air it needs. Adjust it and it should be fine.

If it won't idle (below 1K) then yes I agree that you have a vacuum leak, but I don't think it would be dying, I think the problem would be that you can't get the idle low enough because of the vacuum leak.... make sense?
