HELP am I missing something here? Throttle body related.
So I picked up a throttle body yesterday at a parts yard off of a 90 convertible mine is a 91 convertible I got it for the TPS sensors but when I got home and started looking at it it has a bar with an adjustment screw going to the first set of butterflies that mine does not have. It looks like this is the only thing that would open the butterflies or is that the dashpot's job? The dashpot are also different.
So I guess my question is. Is this piece missing from my TB or do they come with different parts?
Here's a link with a picture of what i'm talking about.

Crikey, it's been so long, I've forgotten why they have two sets of butterflies, but I thought all second gens had them. Here's a link to a how-to on getting rid of them:http://www.rx7turbo.com/tbmod.htm
This is the well-known "Throttle Body Mod".

They have 2 sets of butterflies so when you romp on the throttle there is a gradual shift in the plates and it evens the flow of air into the engine. When you do the complete throttle body mod you cannot romp on the throttle under 3k rpms or your rx7 will bog badly and it makes driving through areas like parking lots a pain in the a$$. On the other hand if you learn not to romp on the throttle under 3k rpms you will become a better driver. The only reason why I can think your throttle bodies are different is if one of your throttle bodies if from an automatic and one is from a manual. If you got it for the TPS I'm pretty positive it'll work fine just set it to 1v via voltmeter. If you don't want to do the complete throttle body mod just remove the secondary plates (ones closest towards the opening of the throttle body) and leave everything else alone.
