Some rocket scientist (a member of my family ) was helping me remove my bellhousing to fix my clutch (shattered the clutch plate ) and decided that gripping the heater hose inlet (i think) near the firewall with a set of grips was a good way to remove a stuck hose. The result? 1 very flat piece of pipe. Now i gotta find a way to either make it round again or replace it. I can't fix it while its in the car, theres not enough room to move tools around there...

Any suggestions in how to remove the entire heater core? I've removed the stereo and heater controls, but it doesn't look like very good access. PLEASE tell me i don't have to take the dash out!

Just for the record, its a S4 N/A.

Yes, you have to remove the dash.

I did mine over the winter. It's not really that bad if you've done it before. I can get the dash out in about an hour without breaking anything.

Look for the bolts inbetween the door hinges and the dash. They're easy to miss because they're hidden behind the weatherstripping. You basically remove everything on or around the dash and then you're ready. If you pull and it still doesn't come out then you forgot something. Don't force it.

If you live in a cold state, and your car is 10+ years old you might consider replacing the core.

You might be able to slide a something into the end of it and get it back rounded out. Since you have nothing to lose.

Hehe, Not bad, i have done it 5 times. That's why my father says, cut them off with a razor and put new hoses back in cause the tubes are soft.
