Well last week I finished putting in my new clutch (bonez street/comp) and used, good condition tranny. When I went to start my car it wouldn't start and made a clunking noise in the rear when I would try to start it  . I couldn't figure out why and didn't want to have to drop the tranny for the third time in a week in and a half. So I had the car towed on a flatbed truck to the Mazda dealer in town. They got to it on Monday. They also couldn't get it started. They did a compression check and got 3.4 to 1 0n one rotor and 2.6 to 1 on the other. So here I am about ready to **** myself b/c i think I have a blown motor, but the guy says they fixed it by doing the ATF trick. Holy **** the Mazda dealer knows the ATF trick. They said the clutch job was good and all they had to do was bleed the clutch some more. I not so good at bleeding things like that (out of practice). So now the car runs great and has a clutch that is holding the power. On a side note whenI removed the throughout bearing it came out in two pieces and the pilot bearing was about ready to sieze. Good thing I did this stuff. I'm soooooooooo happy now. No more driving the wifes automatic, non turbo Protege.

I like it alot. I have driven another tII with one in it also. That is why I bought it. I like the stiffer pedal feel. If you get a Tokico master cylinder it will feel alot more stiff. With shipping to Abilene Texas from Rotary Performance I think it came to about $409. That doesn't include the bearings and stainless steel braided clutch hose.

you got a new master cylinder? Tokico is just a name brand like Napa or Mopar. Mines a tokico, replaced it back two years ago. What i'm now working on is trying to swap out a 929 master cylinder (which is bigger) which would assist better in hydraulics and give my ACT extreme pressure plate and 6 puck race clutch, a more street friendly feel. ATF trick is OLD SCHOOL. mechanics have used it to free sticky valves for the last 4 decades. Glad to hear your car is running! let me know how you do at the track next time.
