Gauge Pods....anyone Here Got Some?
#1
I just bought some gauge pods, but i think i got sent the wrong ones, the box said they are for the FD, How do these mount anyhow? do u screw them into the stock A-pillar? God this has been a bitch! rotorsports jacked me on them then i had to dish out another $40 to get the wrong ******* ones! yea! And it looks as if i have to maybe shave them or somthing to get them to fit, wtf is with that? Did anyone here have to shave/mess around with them to get them to fit? its the dual a-pillar gauge mount by autometer.

Revvin they don't make a guage pod that fits exactly to the second gen a pillar. What you will have to do is mold itto the A pillar with a heat gun or hair dryer. The instructions say that you will need to drill holes for the wiring and for the mounting. They use the little plastic hole pins to stay in place. If you think it's not going to hold then I suggest using some 3m double sided clear tape. I used that stuff on mine to mount the whole thing. It hasn't come loose yet, even in temps over 100 F.

Yes they do make a gauge pod for the second gen, I bought one from Loi at sportcarmotion. the FD gauge pod is WAY too wide and yes it just attaches to the pillar.

The Auto Meter A pillar pod fits good but you have to mount it exact. I positioned it in the car to where it was a good fit, marked the pillar, took it out, drilled it for each of the four corners to mount and one large hole near the dash end for all the wires, ran the wires and installed the guages and then put the whole assembly back in the car. I got it at Summit, for $26 I think. Yours must be the wrong one? That dashmount one looks nice but lot of $$
