so i have this problem, and have had this problem for a while, where when i have a quarter tank of gas or less and make a left turn going faster than 10-20 mph, the engine dies. Then after less than a second, it comes back, full throttle.

it also does this when i accelerate real fast and am low on gas (not empty, or close to empty, just low). it has also done it when i have a full tank, which seems to throw out the theory that the gas sloshes around so much that it runs out of fuel.

Any ideas? My theory: something wrong with the fuel pump, but what do i know. Most likely, it will be some gremlin in the wiring that i will spend months looking for and never find.

Yeah check the Filter screen on the pick up of the pump. Mine did the same thing and the screen was really dirty. I cleaned it and it worked fine after that.

Could it possibly be a clogged fuel filter? (my friend with a mustang 5.0 suggested that, but he drives a ford, so what does he know? lol)

Yeah I guess it could be that. But I would check out the screen on the pump pick up first, because I replaced my fuel filter thinking that it could be the problem but it wasn't.

If you need any help with how to get to the fuel pump let me know.

your fuel gauge may not be accurate...

fuel level maybe lower than indicated....

my engine cut off recenlty during a very hard left...but then turned right on again. I remember this happened to my friend in virginia...and he bought a new foam filter from mazda that sits at the bottom of the fuel pump.

I did the same this week and stopped by the dealer to order one. It was $10. should solver your problems

he knows that if you dont change the fuel filter every 40k miles that the top speed drops to 30mph
