A.E.M. Twin Fire Ignition Operation Question
#1
I installed the A.E.M. unit today in my 88' Convertible N/A and have a few concerns.
1) With the bypass plug inserted the tach in the dash works. With the Twin-Fire working the dash tach doesn't work. Otherwise the car runs perfectly.
2) The instuction manual does not say what the L.E.D. light does that is located beside the dip switches. I assumed it would light when the unit powered on, perhaps not? The unit was wired per page 13, and the yellow wire was grounded as stated. The blue is not connected and zip tied out of the way.
3) Must I use the Tach output from the A.E.M. unit itself? I assume the unit would not disrupt the stock tach signal as it is only an amplifier. If that is the case then someone please explain exactly why this is.
I also installed a new Optima and Grounding Wires last week prior to the install this weekend so I am confident it is not a grounding issue. It should also be said that all connections were soldered and shrink wrapped.
